Surgical Aesthetics
The full story: dr Curtis Wong
Born and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Maui. Ventured to the mainland for college, choosing Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Spent 9 years there, after getting accepted to their School of Medicine, then 5 years in Wichita, Kansas completing a General Surgery Residency at the University of Kansas Wichita. On to Denver where I was trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Colorado.
I responded to an ad in a publication about some small town in Northern California. I met with William Shadish, MD and was sold on coming to Redding, California. We had a complete and accessible medical community bath then, with all specialties covered.
Dr. Ball and Mendez invited me to join them in 1993 and create Plastic Surgery Associates of Redding. We have a wonderful group and serviced the Emergency Departments because of duty and obligation to our community. I left the group in 2011 and started my solo practice, Norcal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, whose modus operandi was trusted and experienced care, specializing in you. In 2015, I stopped participating with any insurance companies and it was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made.
My practice thrived based on word of mouth referrals and my own personal philosophy of always having a satisfied patient. We sailed through COVID, not even requiring masking, saving that for those truly ill. But as all good things do, they had to come to an end someday and that someday is today.
As I was looking to secure a buyer for my practice, I was approached by Drs. McClelland and Warren about working with them to create Intentional Wellness Center and it has been a symbiotic relationship since. I am also able to continue surgical procedures in their facility at less cost and risks to patients and plan to do so until I am no longer able to do this safely. And who knows when that time will come.
